STANLEY PONTLARGE is an ancient farming hamlet just over a mile from the village of Gretton and the Royal Oak pub, which offers great food and drink. The Saxon market town of Winchcombe is 2.5 miles away. It is full of independent shops, pubs and coffee places.  ‘Winchcombe Welcomes Walkers’ is the town’s motto.

The hamlet is set among miles of hills with well-marked walking trails. It is ideal for walkers, hill runners, cyclists and steam train enthusiasts, and the historic Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Steam Railway is nearby.  The cottage is 15 minutes from Cheltenham Racecourse and five minutes from the Prescott Hill Climb.

Beautiful Cotswold villages are a short drive away, including Broadway, Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow on the Wold, Stanton, the Swells and the Slaughters. The Regency Spa Town of Cheltenham is 20 minutes away.

SUDELEY CASTLE, last resting place of Catherine Parr, wife of Henry VIII, is just outside Winchcombe.
